James R. Salmina A Celebration of Life for James Robert Salmina will be Saturday, October 19, 2024, 11am at his Salmina Valley ranch on 10536 Highway 175 Kelseyville, CA, where he lived for much of his life. Jim died at his home on August 19, the day of his 91st birthday. Jim grew up on the ranch among horses, cows, numerous family dogs, and other farm animals. He was a tue cowboy, who raised children who could ride almost before they could walk. His parents, James and Emma, owned and operated Salmina Diary for many years. they also rented horses to ride during the summer tourist season. Jim moved to Napa in 1964 with then wife, Maureen and their children. There, he worked for a floor covering company, a trade he pursued for most of his life. After his parents passed, Jim returned to the ranch, where he lived the rest of his life among his beloved horses, his family and friends. He also loved watching Rodeos and playing poker. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Ed) Bressoud; sons, James (Sue) Salmina and Michael (Susie) Salmina, and his grandchildren, Aaron, Audra, Chris, Jamie, Nikki, Will and Matt. Great grandchildren, Mason, Chloe, Colter, Cambria, Chris, Capria, Laney, Cash, Avery, and Harper Jim was preceeded in death by his wife, Cindy, sister Lorraine Lovs, and infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth.
